This fall term the Greenwich Art Society Studio School is offering some very
exciting new courses and workshops that we would like to bring to your attention
now so that you can make plans for the autumn.

First of all, mark your calendars for our

OPEN HOUSE, Sunday, September 7th from 2-4

in the studio in conjunction with our

Faculty Show in the Greenwich Art Society Gallery.

The faculty will be demonstrating what they will be doing in their classes this fall

and we’ll have some refreshments and social time.


We are delighted to welcome Anna Patalano as our new Vice President in charge of the
Studio School! She has been working hard on the curriculum for the fall term and we hope you will find many new classes of interest and value.

For the first time, we will be offering a 4-course core curriculum program for beginners.
You will be painting, drawing and mixing colors right away and master all the fundamental techniques. These fun and social classes begin around noon and finish in time to pick children up at school.

Elements of Style: Fashion and Decorating Trends

Creative Writing for Visual Artists with Robert Masterson
Drawing II- Building on the Basics with Kathie Milligan
Fashion Drawing for Upper and Middle School Students with Michelle Rudolph
Painting in the Impressionistic Style with Dmitri Wright
Pastels with John Conroy

Botanical Illustration with Hazel Jarvis
Mixed Media, Collage & Construction with Carol Nipomnich Dixon
Figure and Portrait Painting with Fred Mason

Throughout the year we will be offering one-time (2 ½ to 3 hour) workshops for acquiring new skills and techniques or “getting a taste” of a new medium or style. Currently scheduled are:


Preparing Canvas with Rabbit Skin Glue with Kathie Milligan
Drawing a Bird’s Nest with Hazel Jarvis
